TinyLog GPS data logger
Manual download data logger with GPS location function
TinyLog GPS is our new addition to the TinyLog range of data loggers which has the same measurement and logging functions as the TinyLog with the added benefit of logging the GPS site co-ordinates.

The TinyLog GPS has a small lightweight plastic enclosure (120mmLx60mmWx40mmD) and can be supplied as a single or dual channel logger to measure flow (digital input up to 400 pulse per second) and pressure (integral pressure transducer) inputs. Local communication is via a fast non-contact IrDA communications link (115,200 baud).
- Has a built-in GPS receiver to record the location co-ordinates of the site to be logged by using a magnet to activate the logger.
- When used with our Series 4000 hydrant meter, the GPS receiver is activated automatically when water starts flowing through the meter.
- The logger clock is automatically updates to match GPS time when searching for site co-ordinates.
- The loggers store data in a non-volatile memory which is organised into 8off independent date files, the first 6 files each store up to 64,000 readings, the 2off remaining files each store up to 250,000 readings
- 3off programming options are available as standard, see details below:
- Basic configuration -
Can be programmed to record a specific logger function, typically 15 minute logging rate
- Standard configuration -
Can be programmed as per the Basic configuration with the option to select a sample rate and record up to 8off different types of data which include average, instantaneous, minimum and maximum values for flow and/or pressure/analogue inputs
- Advanced configuration -
This option allows each of the 8off files to be set up with their own logging and sample rates for flow and/or pressure logging. This allows you to measure average, pulse interval timing (flow only) maximum and minimum values with their own start/stop time and cyclic mode options, in affect 8off independent dataloggers within one small housing.
- Pressure measurement accuracy is optimised using multi point calibration. This means the logger can be re-calibrated before it is installed, when it has completed it’s logging or after the data has been downloaded by re-calibrating to transducer to the data logger . This is a major benefit if the pressure transducer zero-offset was not carried out at the programming stage.
- Battery life typically 5 years
- All enclosures are IP68 (submersible)
- IrDA communication cable – baud rate of 115,200 allows for fast download of the logger data
PC Software
GCRLog data management software for programming and downloading the data loggers.
- Click of the downloaded graph data where flow and/or pressure has been logged and this will automatically open Google Maps to show the TinyLog GPS site location
- Large database storage and backup
- Data export to 3rd party software
- Comprehensive graphing and reporting
- Data handling such as overlay graph data, re-calibration of logged data, automatic and batch export for multiple data logger programming, i.e. survey logging
When the TinyLog GPS is used with our portable hydrant meter, it will automatically log the location co-ordinates when water starts to flow through the meter. This will enable the operator to use the meter on a number of sites and then download all of the logged data when finished, this could be on site or when back in the office.
You then click on the logged data where you see flow usage to view the site location via Google Maps. If required, the PC software allows you to create a new site name for each set of flow data and save it in the list of location ID’s.
